Terms of use

Last updated 31 August 2026

These are the rules for using Anyone for Tennis. They are short on purpose. By using the site you agree to them.

You must be 18 or over

This service is for adults. You confirm you are 18 or over when you create an account, and we will close any account we believe belongs to someone younger.

We are not able to verify anyone’s age, and we do not pretend otherwise. This service introduces strangers to each other to meet in person, and we have not built the safeguarding a service open to under-18s would need.

What this service is

We help you find other people who want to play the same thing, near you, on a day that suits you both. That is all we do.

We do not book courts, take payments, run competitions, verify anybody’s identity or ability, or supervise anything that happens once two people agree to meet.

Meeting people you do not know

Everyone here is a stranger until you meet them. We check nobody’s identity and we do not vet anyone.

Please meet in public places — a club, a public court, a beach, a park — at least the first time. Tell somebody where you are going. If a conversation makes you uncomfortable, stop replying and report it. You never have to share a phone number, an address, or anything else to arrange a game here.

You are responsible for your own safety and your own decisions about who to meet. That is not us avoiding responsibility; it is the honest position of a service that cannot be in the room with you.

Playing sport is your own risk

Sport carries risk of injury, and so does travelling to it. You take part at your own risk and you are responsible for deciding whether an activity, a level and a venue are suitable for you.

We are not responsible for injuries, losses or costs arising from a game arranged through this service, from anybody you meet through it, or from a venue you choose. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.

How to behave

Use of this service comes with a few plain expectations.

  • Be straight about who you are, what you play and how well you play it.
  • Turn up when you say you will, or tell the other person as early as you can that you cannot.
  • Do not harass, threaten, abuse or discriminate against anybody. Do not send unwanted sexual messages or advances.
  • Do not use the service to advertise, recruit, sell anything, or collect people’s details.
  • Do not post anything false, misleading, or belonging to somebody else.
  • Do not create an account for anyone but yourself, or return under a new account after we have closed yours.

Reporting and moderation

You can report any member or listing. We read reports and we act on them: we may hide a listing, suspend an account, or close one permanently.

We do not owe anybody a warning before doing so where somebody’s safety is involved. We will not always be able to tell you what we did about a report you made, because the outcome is often somebody else’s personal information.

Your listings and messages

What you write stays yours. By posting it you give us permission to show it to other members and, for listings, to display it publicly and let search engines index it — which is how people find you.

You can edit, pause or delete a listing at any time, and delete your account whenever you like. What happens to your information then is set out in our privacy policy.

Availability

This is a small, free service. We do not promise it will always be available, that it will find you a match, or that anybody will reply to you. We may change how it works or stop running it.

If we ever shut it down, we will give members notice and time to retrieve anything they need.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from your profile page.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that we believe belongs to someone under 18, or where we judge it necessary to protect other members.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant we will tell you by email before it takes effect.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of Queensland, Australia, and the courts of Queensland have jurisdiction over any dispute.
